The Board of the Association has been devoting an ever increasing amount of time over the last couple of years to work on behalf of EPO pensioners. Entirely voluntarily, we do this work to try to ensure that the pensioners receive the best possible treatment, help and assistance by the EPO. The Board of the Association tries, wherever it can, to influence the decision making by the EPO to achieve these ends.
Our members, close to 1 300 pensioners, are resident in 25 countries on 5 different continents. Thus eye-to- eye events and meetings where everyone can participate are not possible to organise. Therefore our main, if not only, option to reach out to and to inform our members is by using the World Wide Web.
In 2016 a revamped website has launched, which we hope will make it easier for the Board to inform the members about issues of interest to the pensioners. The new website can also be used by members looking to contact old colleagues with whom they may have lost contact.
As I have already said, any activity carried out for the Association is on entirely voluntary basis. We are therefore always looking for pensioners willing to help. If you are interested, please email our secretary at firstname.lastname@example.org to let him know that you are interested to help and also what kind of help you can offer, such as performing translations, helping organising social events etc.
Remember to log in and look at our website regularly to keep up with the latest news and developments.
